How To Prepare & Apply A Transfer Sticker
When your transfer sticker arrives in the mail, you'll notice that it consists of three components: the backing, the sticker itself, and transfer tape. Occasionally, air bubbles may form during shipping, but removing them is a simple process. Just lift the transfer tape from one edge of the sticker to the center, gently lay it back down, and smooth out any bubbles using the flat part of your hand. Repeat this process on the other side until the sticker lays flat against the backing.
Once your sticker is flat and ready for application, it's important to prepare the surface where you intend to place it. Clean the area with rubbing alcohol or soap and water, avoiding glass cleaners that can leave behind a residue. Then, firmly rub a squeegee or credit card across the sticker to ensure it adheres well to the transfer tape.
Next, carefully peel away the backing from the sticker. If the sticker remains on the backing, replace the transfer tape and rub it again with a squeegee to ensure proper adhesion. Once the sticker is separated from the backing, place it in your desired location and firmly rub it with a squeegee or credit card.
For optimal results, allow the sticker to set for 24 hours before proceeding. When you're ready, peel off the transfer tape at an angle, taking care not to pull the sticker off the surface. If the sticker does lift, gently lower it back down and rub it again with a squeegee.
With these steps completed, your sticker is successfully applied and will maintain its appearance for years to come. Enjoy your newly customized surface!
